Data We Collect
We only collect data that is necessary for the App's core functionality, security, and community matching. The data collected may be classified into two main categories:
A. Data Provided Directly by You
Account & Profile Data: Information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, current industry, target industry, and voluntarily provided "Lived Experience" tags (e.g., First-Gen, career pivoter demographics) used to match you with culturally competent mentors.
Mentorship Scheduling: Information related to booking your 30-minute mentorship sessions, including availability and calendar sync data.
B. Data Collected Automatically (Device and Usage Data)
When you access the App, we (and our app infrastructure provider, Adalo) may automatically collect device information, IP addresses, and app usage data to ensure the platform runs smoothly.
IMPORTANT: No Payment Data Collected
Sync'd currently operates on a free, community-first micro-mentorship model. We do not ask for, process, or store any credit card details, banking information, or payment data.
2. How We Use the Collected Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
To Operate the App: To accurately match mentees with mentors based on shared experiences and facilitate calendar bookings.
To Maintain Security and Prevent Fraud: To protect our "safe space" community, secure user accounts, and identify or address technical issues.
For Analytics and Research: To understand how users interact with the App so we can improve the interface and develop new features to better serve underrepresented professionals.
For Communications: To send you notifications about upcoming mentorship sessions, account updates, or changes to our platform.
